Boquete, Panama

After Santa Catalina, we headed inland to the Chiriqui province and landed in the mountain town called Boquete which reminded us more of a Swiss village than Central America.  The picturesque valley was very cool with its foggy drizzle known as bajareque.  The area is known for rafting and hiking, as well as its organic and environmentally sensitive coffee plantations.  We stayed in a fabulous country inn called Los Establos with its amazing views of the Baru Volcano, relaxing patio, gourmet breakfasts, and free beer!
