Dolphins & Other Critters at Sea
Along with the occassional Portuguese Man-of-War (only the air bladder visible above the water), a smattering of birds near coastal areas, and a split second Pilot Whale sighting, several visits of pods of dolphins were definitely a highlight of being out at sea. They would swam along with the boat anywhere from a few minutes to a half hour, surfing waves on the bow, frolicking all around us, and every once in a while, jumping out of the water with real life Sea World acrobatics. Because the boat is small and close to the water, we really felt like we could almost reach out and touch them.
