Isabel Square — Isla Providencia

Getting Ready for the
May Day Festivities!

Isabel Square, one of the many meeting places on the small Isla Providencia, is located right off the dock at Catalina Harbor.  While John and Ron started the search for gas, the rest of us headed straight to the customs and immigrations office to check in with Mr. Bush.  The temperature is fairly evident as we were schvitzing like a couple of shiny schlemazels!  Nonetheless, everyone was efficient and polite, and all officials asked why we couldn’t stay longer to enjoy the island.  Additionally, the whole island was preparing for a big May Day festival at the square … grilling chicken, drinking beer, and pumping some serious Caribbean rap beats out of huge stereo speakers!
