Los Santos Province

In the Los Santos province, we stopped at Playas Monagre and El Rompío which were completely abandoned black sand beaches.  With a ton of driftwood and low lapping tides, the beaches face northeast so it was odd for us Californians to stare at the ocean with sunset behind us.  This area would be an excellent choice for anyone who would like to disappear with remote ocean front property!  We drove through a small suburb of Chitré where the neighborhood appeared surprised to see Americans in a rental car, and then through deserted ranch land.  It was a little creepy to see miles and miles of absolutely beautiful and totally abandoned beachfront property.
