The Trip from Boquete to Almirante

The 4-hour drive from Boquete to Almirante was definitely an interesting trip!  Our driver, Micky, drove his Nissan Sentra like a bat out of hell on the winding roads and hairpin turns.  We had a rocky beginning to the trip when Micky realized that he had forgotten to deliver his wife’s lunch to her at work.  Fearing retribution, Micky made a quick call to a intermediary delivery driver, put the car in reverse, and drove backwards at high speeds until his helper met us for the lunch drop off.  As such, we were back driving forward again!

Micky brought his brother along allegedly to keep him company; however, Micky told us that the brother just wanted to get to the city for a McDonald’s run.  Micky never missed an opportunity to raz the kid (who starts at University of Pennsylvania fall of 2007) about his weight and his love of Big Macs.  Along with the Barcelona soccer team, both Micky and his brother love extremely loud American club music.  Andy and I rocked out in the backseat to many of our favorite 80’s dance hits, but after several hours, the volume was fairly obnoxious!

In any event, we got to our desination relatively unscathed with plenty of nice terrain along the way!
